My iris always make me smile, the traditional dark purple, the first to flower in my garden have finished. The dark purple was originally from my mother's garden where they grew in abundance.

I have this in a pot and is of a small size flower.

A small clump, each year I only get one flower stalk, sadly it only lasts up to 36 hours.

  1. Lovely collection of irises! I love that last one - what a shame it is so short-lived.

  2. Your iris photos are beautiful -- I assume it's spring wherever you are. My parents' garden had large rows of irises that had spread and multiplied, so we always had lots and lots of dark and light purple ones for several weeks each April, with just a few yellow ones. I've never had any luck with them myself.

  3. A beautiful collection. Iris are such flamboyant flowers. They always bring a smile to my face as I remember closely peering in down the fairy pathway as a little child.

  4. Iris were always my mother’s favorite flowers and looking at your photos reminds me of her garden.
