Salzburg to Regensburg

Salzburg nestles below 2 mighty hills, the Kapuzinerberg and the Monchsberg
Millions come to visit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site every year to pay tribute to 
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 91)
Baroque monuments add an Italian flamboyancy to an Alpine setting on the banks of the Salzach river, lovers of the Sound of Music also pay homage.

Mozart's birth house. He left Salzburg at the age of 25 and never returned.

Mozart was baptised in the Dom and was the organist as a teenager.

Old City overlooked by the Hohensalzburg fortress, built 1077-1510.





Overnight sailing to Regensburg, Germany,located at the northernmost point of the Danube,
Woke to a beautiful smooth river and a day of sunshine.
Our walking tour of the small city, not easy over various surfaces of cobblestones.

The city still contains 1300 listed buildings. It is noted for its many Italian style tower residences.

  1. The colours really enhance the historic buildings, but my favourites are your cobblestone photos. Hope you got to hear some Mozart in that setting, some Magic Flute on the river bank would just right.
