May Challenge of Folded Book

This month's group challenge took some working out despite drawn and fold instructions
This little book is called a Blizzard Book.
Due to a blizzard and unable to get to work, the writer put the day to use by embarking on an intense folding session.
The dimensions to start are 7 5/8 x 33 inches.
As I didn't have any paper of that length, decided to use pianola roll paper for my practice sample.

All blizzards start out as accordions, through a series of diagonal folds, triangles become the mechanism that both locks and holds the pages together at the spine to hold the contents.
The little book sits in a wrapper.
These books are tiny, I will try and change the dimensions to get a larger size.
The second part of the challenge is to make a Blizzard Pocket book
The required length to start is 11" x 52".
I may have to join paper to get the length required.

  1. That looks very complex but quite lovely.

  2. That is such a cool project. It looks so amazing and complicated. I'll be looking for the finished next size up...

  3. Very precise folding, it looks so clever. The piano roll paper makes for lovely details on the pages.

  4. Looks like you had fun with this.
