Not Long Till......

... the end of deadheading at Rose Garden.
We spent 3.5 hours this morning deadheading 5 weepers. The petals are falling off and leaving the buds, many of the weepers have orange hips on them.
There isn't much colour left in the garden, the 2nd and 3rd flushes have all but finished.

Came across this birds nest in one weeper, the weaving in it was so intricate, using pine needles.

  3. Deadheading roses ...my job as a kid, and we had a huge rose garden. I do recall the time I worked very hard without even being asked, and ended up in trouble because my father was saving those rose hips for the seeds he was hybridising.

  4. I have been neglecting my dead heading. Did a bit this morning then the sun came out and it started to get a bit too warm.
