Airing of the Quilts

We made a detour on our way out today to see the Airing of the Quilts at the tiny town of Steiglitz, near Anakie. The lady we spoke to, said this event is on every 2 years and next time hope to have more quilts on display. Despite the breeze, the quilts on display were beautiful in the natural surroundings.

 The Court House.

We were taken in to the backyard of the local potter's home to see his vegetable garden.
The house was once the General Store and to the side, the Undertaker's residence.
Noticed this old truck sitting under the tree. I don't think it is going anywhere fast!!

  2. We used to take the kids there for barbecues. Such beautiful quilts. I wonder if they're all 'local'.

  3. Thanks for the photos - I couldn't make it there this time. However I do recognise a couple of those quilts as ones that were there 2 years ago.

  6. A perfect day for the quilts. They look so pretty strung out along the fence. Thanks for spotting them all for me.

  7. It reminds me of my trip to the show at Sisters in Oregon. It is great to see such a variety of displays.

  8. Gosh! I haven't been to Steiglitz for so long. Many years ago we did a guided tour by a history buff. He showed us all sorts of things including foundations of long ago buildings.
