I love doors and was given this jigsaw for Christmas.
Boxing Day in our house is myself doing a jigsaw with the cricket on TV and eating left overs..
Also received this one for Christmas, not easy for a small one.
Took me 3 hours to do.

Santa and the CFA
We have been in our home 36 years and every year the CFA drive around our streets with Santa.
As the local children have grown up there aren't as many to come out and wave.
But I haven't missed a year that I haven't run out the front door to greet Santa.
Just another Christmas Eve tradition that I wouldn't miss.
Needs a trim.
I usually hand piece blocks, have decided to do it on the machine for a change.
Using up scraps in my stash.
One down and many more to go.
Christmas Eve starts at 6am with a visit to Conways Seafood in Footscray.
Dinner tonight is always seafood and Champagne,
followed by me watching Carols by Candlelight at the Myer Music Bowl.
"Oh Come All Ye Faithful" is my favourite Carol, especially the part "Sing Choir of Angels....".
John and Emma retreat to the family room to watch Star Trek.
Sunrise over Footscray this morning.
Always as a little girl, my Mother would put out the Santa Mix on the Christmas breakfast table.
The only time of the year we were allowed to have lollies with breakfast.
As the years have gone by, I have had to hide the mix, usually before Christmas a 2nd or 3rd bag has needed to be bought!!!

The 2nd of my Japan photo books has arrived.
Only took 4 days, hope Number 1 arrives by Christmas Day.
I love going through my books and remember what a great time I had.

I have a feeling that this will be a hand sewing project for many years to come.
I haven't even made a dint in the fabric box.
At the moment making new stars and safety pinning them into position ready to attach.
Went to Guild on Saturday and a fellow quilter showed her Bedford Quilt.
Remembered that I have mine hiding in the drawer, must get it out and make it up.

A Couple of Surprises
I came home from the tour to my 2 hanging baskets of Impatiens.
My faith has been restored in John, as they were just a few seedlings when I left.
His theory is, "if you can't eat it, don't plant it".
I received a lovely surprise box from my cousin Vicki in Queensland this week,
who is also a quilter.
(We must have got the "craft" gene from our Grandmother)
Inside were these amazing scraps of Japanese indigo fabrics.
She said she received them years ago from a lady who regularly lived in Japan.
Vicki started a quilt but never got anywhere with it,
so thought I could add them to the fabrics I bought while away.
I am very lucky.
