Coffee and cake at Kyneton, is one of our favourite towns for a quick drive to on a Sunday afternoon
This shop is a fabric, wool and haberdashery shop with 50% off.
Unfortunately it had closed by the time we got there.
Kyneton always seems to have a French feel about it's Piper Street stores.

The leaves are starting to change colour.

Weekend Bits and Pieces so far

Saturday morning decided to start making some 1" diamonds, but then realised when I had bought the packets I forgot to include the template in my order.
So... then started to make up the corner section for the 5th border of my Medallion quilt.....
....then realised I was 2 squares short.
Saturday - With Sue and Wayne... we are Godparents to each others children.
It is sad when it takes a function to finally catch up with close friends.
We have vowed to make it together more often.
Sunday morning Nando decided she need some therapeutic scratching in the vegie garden

The roses are having a second flush, wonderful lot of rain last night.

A quick trip to Bunnings this morning.
Planted Sugar Snap Peas
We have our old bath and Emma gave her Dad her bath.
Parsley, rosemary, mint and coriander.
Filled up the second bath and planted snow peas and baby spinach.
Also came home from Bunnings with 2 Azaleas, this pretty Argyranthemum Sassy daisy and a blue Salvia "African Sky". All of them are sun tolerant.
Now off for a Sunday afternoon drive and a coffee in this beautiful sunshine.

Border 5 Medallion Quilt

Spent the whole day adding the large triangles to the pinwheels and attaching the 4 borders to the quilt.
One border in dark browns, navy and dark purple to go.
Next task is to cut out the squares and cross cut into 4 triangles.

Our Guild Shop Hop Bus Trip

Our Geelong Patchwork and Quilters Guild had their annual bus trip today.
A great day out. Unfortunately we had to by pass one shop due to heavy traffic, an accident and the time it took to get out of the city.

GJ's put on a beautiful morning tea with coffee/tea.
Our next shop was Can Do books in Hawthorn.
Patchwork on Central Park, Malvern  was next.

I would love to have bought this storage rack!!!

Last shop was Amitie in Glenhuntley.
I loved this Antique Star quilt that was hanging on the door.
My goods that I bought.

Sweet Peas - St Patrick's Day

Today is the traditional day for the planting of Sweet Peas.
This year I have chosen a dwarf variety with reds in the colour mix.
I saved pods from last year's planting and will give them a go in a pot.

Applique Exhibition, Castlemaine

Attended the Applique Exhibition at Castlemaine today.
A fabulous day catching up with those who I hadn't seen in a while.
The quilts were stunning and the layout of them was great.
Congratulations to whoever chose the venue and the hanging and display of them.
I don't think the town knew what had hit them, the crowds of quilters were in abundance.
Threadbear Patchwork shop was so crowded. It was push and shove to get through the shop.

The quality of the quilts were excellent.
Thank you Joy, Sue and Bernice for a fabulous day out.
