The Letter Q - Scatterdays

 Plant - QUEEN MOTHER ROSE
I am a volunteer at the Victorian State Rose Garden at Werribee Mansion.
Currently we are in the process of dead heading the spent blooms of several thousand roses.
I work on the weeping standard roses.

Nighttime - QANTAS AT MELBOURNE AIRPORT
Quilting comes 2nd to my passion for Qantas 747 400 Series Jumbos.
My Father worked for TAA and I grew up loving  planes.
My husband often takes me to the end of the runway to sit and watch them take off and land.
He says I am the only person he knows who gets emotional when I see one flying overhead.

 Something Healthy - QUINCE PASTE
With cheese on crackers and a good glass of wine, beats any take away.

Quick to Quilt - POSTCARDS AND ATC'S
I have several hundred of both in my collection.
Give me 15 minutes and I can get one of them made for the monthly swap.

  2. What a compact collection. Shame on me for forgetting QANTAS! A wonderful Queen story and colourful quick quilting.

  3. Well the fact that someone takes the time and effort to diehard the dead flowers probably helps to explain why the roses in botanical gardens look so good. Lovely collection and all,so original

  5. Beautiful photos Jenni - love your choices for Q - see that the good old ugly quince is taking centre stage in most people's posting!

  8. Quince paste? I've never heard of it. But then, I've never seen a quince, nor tried quince jam. Guess we're just out of the loop here in the US.

FYI... you're still a no-reply commenter. Linda, FlourishingPalms

    1. Hi Linda, I have fixed my no reply a few times, don't know why it doesn't work.

  9. I love the picture of the Qantas jet at night! It seems the underappreciated quince has a huge underground following!

  10. I always feel sorry that the rose garden cannot have roses dead headed more frequently. It is one of my daily occupations.....good on you for the hard work. I use Quince Paste.....the Maggie Beer one and keep the containers..now how did I forget them???
Love the postcards...they intrigue me more than the ATC''s although the work is equally amazing. I also love planes. Being in them!!

    1. The deadheading at the Rose Garden Glenys, is quite relaxing, you chat while you snip. We have a few volunteer with walkers and it gets them out of the house into the fresh air. I love being in planes also, especially the speeding down the runway prior to takeoff, it means you are on your way to somewhere different. Hope you are keeping well.
