Blue/Brown Quilt

I have finished a double bed quilt for my daughter whose unit is in blues and browns. The pattern was from Quilters Companion magazine by Karen Cunningham called "Turkey Tracks".

Karen "drew inspiration from a quilt in Glorious American Quilts: The Collection of the Museum of American Folk Art by Elizabeth V. Warren and Sharon L. Eisenstat. The quilt is recorded as being Turkey Tracks Quilt, quilt maker unidentified, possibly Ohio 1840 - 1860".

The blue fabrics were from a fat quarter swap from my friends at Bacchus Marsh. The quilting was done by Judy at "Wheatsheaf Quilting", Geelong.
I have mentioned to my daughter that being young, she may prefer the rear of the quilt for her bed than the traditional side!!!!!!

My week has been knitting. We have another 13 beanies to send off to Jan Mac for the Homeless Connect Day in Brisbane. Many thanks to my friend Sophia for her knitting of the beanies in the foreground. This has been a nice change to quilting.

My Week....

It's been a busy week.

Finished piecing my Turkey Track quilt in blue/browns. Delivered it to Judy for quilting and hope it have it back next week.

Looked for the "Yellow Brick Path" at Rose Garden this week. Finally bought myself a pair of gum boots. First time in ages that I haven't come home with wet socks. We have finished dead heading the roses, pruning starts next month. Looking forward to it. Love Winter, especially all rugged up outdoors.

Was spoilt on Mothers' Day. Emma took us out to lunch at Docklands followed by a visit to the NGV for a photography exhibition on Water. In the rooms next to it was a wonderful Chinese/Japanese exhibition. Beautiful porcelain and furniture etc.

She gave me this book on photography, wonderful. I think she may have been tired of me, ringing and asking her "what's the setting for........". I told Emma all I wanted was a hug for Mothers' Day. But I was thrilled with the book and our standard gift to each other of shower gel.

We are going to have a day taking photos and using all the settings instead of me using the Auto button.
Going well with my French for Travellers language class. Have done 2 of the 6 classes. Not as hard as I thought it would be, having learnt German at high school.

Posted off more beanies to Jan Mac. Knitted 3 over the weekend, need sewing up. Spent Saturday morning with my friend Sophia, we knitted for Jan. Also made a start on some more Notebook Covers to sell at our Geelong Guild Exhibition.

I am having a lot of problems opening several of the blogs on my list.

I have not been able to post comments on them either.

Each time I open one the blogs that I follow, the following message pops up.

"Internet explorer cannot open"

Operation aborted.

It is frustrating, this happened over night 2 weeks ago, nothing has changed on my computer or the way I do things.

The only thing that I have noticed is that a couple of them do not have their titles highlighted in a colour like the others. Also the spacings of my sentances are larger than usual.

If you hear a loud bang, it is only me throwing the computer out the window and it landing with a big thud.

Can someone help me please.....

Cheers Jenni
