The Geese Have Flown...

Have started to piece together my favourite block, "little wastage Flying Geese".
Have an extensive collection of Taupes bought in 2014 at the Tokyo International Quilt Festival.
Thought it was about time I did something with them.
7 inch x 5 1/2 inch squares, right sides together.
I made a plastic template to place them onto top of each other.
Pin and draw a diagonal line.
 Sew 1/4 inch either side.
 Cut along line and press.
Place right sides together, draw diagonal line, sew either side again and cut.
Paper cut out taped on ruler.
 Cut 2 sides.
Turn ruler and cut other 2 sides.
Very little wastage, 4 Flying Geese blocks.
Finished size 2 inches x 4 inches

  1. I've never tried this method - thanks for the info.

  2. What a smart method! Actually this year I did not see that many taupe quilts at the show.

  3. This is my favourite method too. I am interested to see how you will use all these geese.

  4. I love this method for flying geese. It even allows you to make 2 different colours besides the goose if you need to. I never made perfect geese until many years ago I had a lesson with the fabulous Lessa Siegel. Now they really are all perfect.
