Once In a Blue Moon

John was on a train test last night 10pm - 3.30am.
Unfortunately, far too much cloud cover when the moon was to turn red.
Next one in July.

Taken while the train was moving.

  1. I got to see it in between the clouds. However I fell asleep before the full eclipse - there was a sliver of light still the last time I looked at it, and the dark section had a slight reddish tinge.

  2. The moon put on a grand show here in Tokyo. I was surprised to see how many people were standing out in the cold watching, when I went with Nikko for her evening walk. The process was quite slow so I wonder how many stayed for the entire event. That is one nice thing about sleeping in a greenhouse.

  3. I dashed out to have a look. But all I saw was a glow and clouds.

  4. It was too cloudy here to see anything so my hubby said.

  5. The moon above Tokyo was blood red, and so close you could almost touch it!

  6. The moon put on a great show in the east of Melbourne. It was quite mesmerising when in full eclipse. A beautiful red jewel hanging above the trees.

  8. Great photos of the moon! I went out and watched the eclipse too but I didn't even try to take pictures.
