The Scent of Roses

I returned to the Victorian State Rose Garden after a break since September.
Feeling nervous, was warmly welcomed back by the team I work with pruning the weepers.
Being school holidays, lots a children making use of the lovely weather to roll down the grass slope and run along the paths. I have missed the company of my team mates.
Worked 3 1/2 hours, we deadheaded 5 weepers.

Due to the extreme heat of last week, the flowers have been burnt.
Just waiting on another flush of blooms.

  1. Deadheading takes time, but pays off! Great garden and I am so glad you are one of the gardeners again.

  2. It's great that you could get back there again. Working with the roses must be a very rewarding volunteer task. They let you know they are happy with your work when they flower next time.

  3. I can almost hear your sigh of contentment at being back among the roses and your friends.
