Hassan Il Mosque Casablanca

(Editing of photos will be done when I get home)
Our morning started with a visit to the Mosque, the biggest in Morocco and one of the largest in the world.
Sitting on the edge of the ocean.
It covers 22 acres of land, the main hall welcomes approx 25,000 worshipers while 80,000 people can gather on the outside grounds.

 The mosaic work is stunning.
Hidden among the columns are 360 speakers.
200 cleaners are on duty.
Prayer rugs. The worshipers are called to prayer 5 times a day.
The Moroccan flag is red with a green Islamic Star, 5 points referring the the 5 points of Islam
Approx 20,000 women can gather upstairs, the men on prayer mats below.

Nearly all the materials of the mosque are from Morocco with the exceptions of the imported white granite columns and glass chandeliers (from Italy).
 Pool below ground.
