Saturday at Winter School

Day 3 of 5 days.
Woke this morning to these lying on the kitchen bench.
The tutor of this class of magical figurines, is in one of the accommodation rooms with us.
Her class spent time last night drying the heads in the oven. This evening it is feet and hands drying time.
A misty cold morning greeted us as we walked out the door to go to breakfast and class.
The large sheet I made, divided into 2 and the first of the vessels.
One of the traders made me up a couple of toggles. Plaited embroidery thread to hold the  cylinder together.

2nd piece wrapped around a tin, hessian fringe, french knots and sashiko stitching on both pieces.

  1. Your work is beautiful. The stitching highlights the subtle variations in the paper.

  2. Those heads are a bit hideous. But your pieces are delicate and lovely.
