Stonehouse Gallery

Our weekend drive took us this afternoon to the Stonehouse Gallery at Warrandyte.
Nestling on the banks of the upper Yarra River.
There were many locals swimming and relaxing in the river.
The Stonehouse Gallery is currently having "A Behind the Scenes" exhibition of local artists coming in to share and show their talents, every day of February.

The former church is a treasure trove of beautiful textile arts and wares for sale.
Today's guest artist was Jan O'Neill, a local potter who sells and displays her wares at the Gallery.
We had a lovely chat about her pinch pots and glazing.

 Jan's display.
I was very excited to see a display of sale items by my favourite Textile Artist,
Michelle Mischkulnig.
(I follow Michelle's blog on my reading list)
Hand felted scarves and blown glass balls.
Discovered these hand painted geraniums as we walked along the main strip of shops.

These reminded me of Tibetan bunting.
A lovely drive to the outskirts of Melbourne. Well worth a visit.

  1. My favourite place to find a special something! It is a quite an old artist's co-op that used to be mainly pottery and located in the actual Stonehouse on the other side of the bridge and down the road a bit.
