Hwaseong Fortress

Braved the cold night air 0 - 7 degrees for a night tour of the fortress at Suwon, an hour south of Seoul. Enjoyed dinner before visiting it, we were treated to a traditional BBQ. We were the only 2 on the tour, had a private one and enjoyed it.

A beautiful embroidered chest with the drawer chest it was sitting on.
It may look a lot, but it is very easy to get through, mainly salads.

King Jeongja

Buksumun (Northern Floodgate) One of the 2 floodgates in the Suwoncheon Stream, flowing through the fortress. Built 1795. The stonework is beautiful. The city has recently restored the fortress.

The wall surrounds the city and is 5.5km long.

  1. A private tour for the two of you sounds almost worth braving those temperatures for.
