Silk Screen Printing with Susan Mathews

Spent the day yesterday doing a workshop of silk screen printing with Susan Mathews.
Great day learning how to do the process of printing and the making of screens.
 Susan demonstrated the techniques.

Raided the veggie garden before I left.
Tomato, strawberry, eggplant and apricot leaves.
 1st - Screen printed.
These were done using the large wooden screens.
Reverse side of the above fabric
2nd - another piece of fabric was placed over the 1st and the excess paint transferred by rubbing.
3rd -  excess paint left on leaves, pressed onto fabric.
The black lines are the stains of the tomato stems.
They didn't transfer to the fabric after screen printing these dried leaves.

We were taught how to make a smaller cardboard screen.
The screen is sheer curtain scrim.
Cut out pattern to use in the small screen.
I enjoyed using the smaller screens.
