Another Scrap Quilt

Made up another scrap charity quilt for Regent Street over the last 2 days.
Colours are different in real life, thought it was about time a boy's colour range was made.
Progress in my 1 inch diamond stars.
It has now hit me that I will have to sew close to 1,000 stars to make it a decent size quilt!!!

Lambley Nursery, Ascot, Victoria

Recommended by my friend Vireya,
our Sunday afternoon drive took us to Lambley Nursery, Ascot.
A lovely nursery and garden!
 Crocus "Lilac Beauty"
 Crocus "Firefly"
 Iris "Purple Gem" (my favourite)
 Common Snowdrops
The Dry Garden that is only watered 3-4 times a year.
The vegetable, seed and bulb raising garden.
Bulbs (tulips) in the garden, just starting to poke their heads up out of the soil.
We were told to come back in Spring when all the bulbs etc. will be flowering.
John bought some vegetable seeds and a packet of red Flanders Poppy seeds for me.
Creswick is just down the road, coffee and vanilla slices for afternoon tea.
Many thanks Vireya for telling us about this nursery, it was a visit well worth it.

Sunday

A beautiful Sunday morning here in Melbourne.

Willows Quilt In (Melton)

Went along to the Willows Quilting Group at Melton yesterday for their quilt in.
Had a lovely day with Jeann, Sue, Joy, Lee-Allan and Sandy.

On to the purple diamonds for my next quilt.
Margaret McDonald was guest speaker, a wonderful talk on her journey in quilting.
Stunning quilts on show.
Just a few, the colours were amazing.

Another Charity Lap Scrap Quilt in the Making

Slowly getting through my stash.
Easy block, cut strips 1 1/2" wide by approx. 6"-7" long.
Sew 8 strips together, trim to 5" x 8".
Sew a 2" x 8"strip on each of the long sides only.
Make 20 blocks and rotate them 4 blocks wide x 5 blocks long.
Add a border or two.

Cold Friday Night Footy

One grumpy Hawthorn supporting husband told me to stop yelling.....
 ......we WON!!
(can't you tell from the grin)
It might look a beautiful night overlooking the Bolte Bridge from Etihad,
but it was so cold with the wind.

Another Lap Scrap Quilt

Made up another top for donation to Regent Street, Geelong.
Great way to use up scraps in my stash.
Slowly getting through the baskets of fabric.
