Central Committee Fabric Challenge

The annual Past Retreat Committee Fabric Challenge is:
"Shades of Colour" by
Hoffman California International Fabrics.
Fabric chosen by Helen E.
I used a photo print from a kit that I purchased in Houston.
Tucked away in a drawer was an edge of an old white doily, a piece of white linen and a white lace butterfly
A quick dip into a strong cup of coffee to age them and a few buttons added to the front.
Not sure where the Mother of Pearl button came from.

I enjoy making journal and notebook covers.
The rust colour of the photo lent itself to the colour of the variegated fabric.
The Batik fabric on the edge had rust coloured spots, so also used the main fabric to go with it.
The challenge fabric was not an easy piece to match.
I prefer the notebook closed without seeing the back of it.
