Wangaratta Art Gallery

Yesterday, 6 of us from our Scquilters CBD group, went to Wangaratta on the XPT Sydney train for the day. Our day excursion was to see an Exhibition at the Wangaratta Art Gallery called ARTCLOTH: engaging new visions.
The ceiling to floor pieces were made by artists from Australia, USA, Germany and Lithuania.
The techniques used were:
stencilling
stitching
painting
silkscreen printing
mono printing
shibori dying
use of paper
rubber stamping.
discharge dying
and many other forms of techniques.
The lengths of fabrics used, ranged from cotton, silk, sheer fabrics to linens.
The exhibition was excellent.
Unfortunately we were unable to take a photo.
The exhibition closes this Sunday 23 January, but if you have some spare time on the weekend, those who are able to, it is well worth the visit.
Click on the Wangaratta Art Gallery for a preview of 2 of the pieces.
